Artwork Information
ARTWORK SETUP
BLEEDS
Bleeds should extend at least .0625” off each side of the die cut.
TRAPS
Traps should be a minimum of .03125” where possible, if not, spread and choke colors as generous as the color combinations will allow.
NOTE: We will trap them if you wish.
COLOR USAGE
Build all process (CMYK) work with CMYK rather than RGB.
Do not build art with spot colors if it is meant to be run as 4 color process.
If PMS colors are to be built out of 4 color process make sure that they can be. Not all PMS colors can be printed as CMYK tints.
Use Pantone colors for spot color jobs.
Check your file for duplicate and unused colors.
Vignettes need to be specified with percentages (3% minimum dot).
DIELINE
A die indicator should be placed on a separate file layer.
FONTS
Include all fonts (printer and screen) used.
Minimum type size for face print applications should be five pt.
Drop-out applications need a minimum of 6 pt and bold styling.
If text does knock out, do not use a font that has thin serifs or thin strokes.
LINE SIZE
All lines should be a minimum of .5 pt.
UPC
Universal Product Codes will have to be created if they are not provided with art.
PHOTOSHOP FILES
When preparing photoshop files crop close to actual image size. Supply hi-reolution files for output (300dpi). Try to keep file size to a minimum without compromising quality.
